Christopher Nolan meets Kamal Haasan
Renowned filmmaker Christopher Nolan and visual artiste Tacita Dean, are in India for a two-day event — 'Reframing the Future of Film'. The event in Mumbai will include a private roundtable discussion and a separate public event.
Actor Kamal Haasan met Mr. Nolan on March 30 and tweeted, "Met Mr.Christopher Nolan. Apologized for seeing Dunkirk in the digital format and in return am sending Hey Ram in digital format for him to see. Was surprised to know he had seen Paapanaasam."
Film Heritage Foundation's founding director Shivendra Singh Dungarpur will host Nolan for three days and he hopes the director’s trip to India will draw attention to the cause of film preservation and restoration.
A public lecture on ‘Process and the Non-Deliberate Act’ by Ms. Dean took place on Friday.
It will be followed by a discussion on ‘Reframing The Future Of Film’ on April 1 in Mumbai with Mr. Nolan, Ms. Dean and Mr. Dungarpur.
A roundtable discussion is also planned with prominent personalities of the Indian film industry to be attended by Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kamal Haasan, Shyam Benegal and others.
Nolan will be present for the screenings of two of his recent films — Oscar-nomianted “Dunkirk” and "Interstellar".
